How this planner works — 5-minute quick start

  1. Trip tab: enter your dates, resort, and party. Everything else keys off your dates.
  2. Days tab: give each day a park and a rope-drop target.
  3. Parks tab: read the game plan, check heights, find characters.
  4. Dining tab: log reservations and watch the 60-day booking window.
  5. Before you leave: hit Backup on the Trip tab and save the file somewhere safe.

Everything saves on this device only — no account, no cloud, works offline in the parks (your saved plan, at least — maps, menus, and official links need internet).

🌊 Water Parks

Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach need separate admission (or a Park Hopper Plus ticket). Usually only one is open at a time — Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment (since Sept 9, 2026) and Blizzard Beach is operating. The free check-in-day water park admission for Disney Resort guests ran May 26–Sept 8, 2026 and is announced to return in summer 2027 (exact dates TBD) — verify the current offer before your trip.

📸 PhotoPass & Memory Maker

Memory Maker
One purchase covers your whole party for the trip and includes ride photos and videos. Recently around $185 when bought 3+ days ahead ($210 after; ~$85 one-day) — prices change, so verify. Buying in advance is cheaper than day-of — do the math against buying a few single photos.
Find the photographers
Look for cast members in green shirts at park icons, character spots, and scenic overlooks. Ask for a Magic Shot — they'll pose you with characters that appear in the photo later.
Free phone photos
Any PhotoPass photographer will also take pictures with YOUR phone or camera for free — always ask.
Link your party
Connect everyone in My Disney Experience before the trip so all photos land in one account.

🛍️ Disney Springs mini-guide

No ticket needed — free to enter, great for a rest-day evening. Store lineups change, so verify before your trip.

Shopping
World of Disney (the big one), Marketplace Co-Op, the LEGO Store, and dozens of brand shops across four neighborhoods.
Dining to know
The Boathouse, Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', Wine Bar George, Morimoto Asia — plus Gideon's Bakehouse for the famous cookies (the line moves faster than it looks).
Entertainment
Cirque du Soleil: Drawn to Life, Splitsville bowling, live music on the waterfront stages, and a movie theater.
Good to know
Parking is free. Buses run from every Disney resort (no direct buses between Springs and the parks). Evenings are liveliest.

⚡ Disney Genie & Lightning Lane

How Disney's line-skipping system works. Details change often — confirm everything in the My Disney Experience app before your trip.

What is Disney Genie?

Disney Genie is the free planning feature inside the My Disney Experience app. It shows a tip board with forecasted wait times and suggests a personalized itinerary for your day. It costs nothing — the paid parts are the Lightning Lane passes below. (The old paid Genie+ was retired in July 2024 and replaced by Lightning Lane.)

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

The main paid skip-the-line pass, bought per person per day for one park (roughly $15–$45 depending on park and date). Book 3 attractions in advance: at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios you pick 1 from the top tier and 2 from the second tier. Disney Resort hotel guests can buy and book up to 7 days before check-in; everyone else up to 3 days before the park visit. After you tap into your first Lightning Lane, the tier limits drop and you can book more one at a time all day. Includes PhotoPass digital downloads for the day. Tier 1 picks (choose at most 1 in advance): MK — Big Thunder, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, Space Mountain, Tiana's Bayou Adventure; EPCOT — Frozen Ever After, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, Soarin'; Hollywood Studios — Runaway Railway, Smugglers Run, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog Dash. Animal Kingdom has no tiers.

Lightning Lane Single Pass

A separate per-ride purchase for the biggest headliners — typically Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage. Not included with Multi Pass, up to 2 per day. Same 7-day / 3-day advance windows.

Single-rider lines

Free and separate from Lightning Lane — you may not ride with your party, but the wait is usually much shorter. As of fall 2026: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (Muppets), Smugglers Run, and Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios; Test Track and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Expedition Everest's single-rider line ended in September 2026. Lineups change — check the app day-of.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass

One-time entry to every Lightning Lane in a park, with no return times to juggle. Limited quantity and the priciest option (reported roughly $119–$449 depending on park). Same advance booking windows.

Tips 💡

Link everyone in your party in the app before your booking window opens. Advance Multi Pass picks must all be in the same park — choose your most important park. If you want a better return time, modify instead of canceling, and try refreshing — other guests release slots back all day. Everyone in your party needs their own purchase. And remember: the standby line is always free.

♿ Accessibility & DAS

Policies change — verify current rules in the app before your trip.

Disability Access Service (DAS)
Since May 2024 DAS is focused on guests whose developmental disability prevents waiting in a conventional queue — mobility needs are handled through accessible queues instead. Register by live video chat up to 60 days before your visit (the guest must be present), or in person at Guest Relations. The old advance ride preselections were removed. Official DAS info
Rider Switch
Traveling with a little one too short to ride? Ask a cast member — one adult waits with the child while the rest ride, then you swap without waiting in line again. Official Rider Switch info
Wheelchairs & ECVs
Rent daily inside the parks, or save money on multi-day trips with off-site companies that deliver to your resort. Official rental prices & details
Quiet break spots

Kidcot Fun Stops
EPCOT World Showcase — free activity card at each pavilion; collect stamps and stickers.
Wilderness Explorers
Animal Kingdom — free booklet; complete challenges around the park to earn sticker badges.
Resort hopping
Ride the monorail loop or Skyliner and explore other Disney resorts — free to wander, shop, and grab snacks.
Electrical Water Pageant
Free nighttime light parade on the water — best viewed from Magic Kingdom-area resorts and beaches.
Campfire Sing-A-Long
Chip 'n' Dale's campfire at Fort Wilderness — the sing-along is free (s'mores kits cost extra).
Club Cool soda samples
EPCOT — free international soda samples. A great air-conditioned break with kids.
Transportation as entertainment
The monorail loop, Skyliner, and boats are free to ride — no park ticket needed. A resort-hop evening costs nothing.

🌅 Rope-Drop Morning Tips

The first 90 minutes decide your day: hit one headliner at open, then stack nearby rides before crowds build. Verify current early-entry rules before you go.

Magic Kingdom
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or TRON Lightcycle Run at rope drop, then knock out Fantasyland (Peter Pan's Flight, Winnie the Pooh) before 10:30.
EPCOT
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure or Frozen Ever After first, then Test Track or Soarin' while lines are short. World Showcase opens later — save it for midday.
Hollywood Studios
Slinky Dog Dash or Rise of the Resistance at open, then Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster back-to-back before the spike.
Animal Kingdom
Flight of Passage at open (the longest line in Florida), then Na'vi River Journey, then Kilimanjaro Safaris while the animals are most active in the morning.

🌧️ Rainy-day backup plans

Florida storms roll in most afternoons — usually fast and gone within the hour. Duck inside here:

Magic Kingdom
Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, "it's a small world", Mickey's PhilharMagic, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents.
EPCOT
The Seas with Nemo & Friends plus the huge aquarium (calm, cool, lots of seating), Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Gran Fiesta Tour in the Mexico pavilion, The American Adventure show.
Hollywood Studios
Most headliners are indoors: Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, Star Tours, Walt Disney Presents.
Animal Kingdom
The trickiest park in rain: Festival of the Lion King (covered theater), the Finding Nemo show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! in the Tree of Life theater, Na'vi River Journey. Bonus: Kilimanjaro Safaris runs in the rain and animals are often more active.

🤫 Quiet break spots

Every park has a Baby Care Center with nursing rooms, changing tables, microwaves, and a calm feeding area — plus these low-key corners:

Magic Kingdom
Baby Care Center beside The Crystal Palace. Shaded benches around the Hub grass in front of the castle; the walkway between Fantasyland and Liberty Square stays calm midday.
EPCOT
Baby Care Center in the Odyssey building (between Test Track and Mexico). The dark, cool aquarium in The Seas pavilion has benches; the Japan pavilion gardens are made for decompressing.
Hollywood Studios
Baby Care Center at Guest Relations near the entrance. Animation Courtyard is usually quiet; the covered seating areas near the park's edge give tired feet a rest.
Animal Kingdom
Baby Care Center on Discovery Island. The shaded Tree of Life trails are the calmest walk in any park — take them slow.

📏 Can my kid ride it?

Pick a kid from the Rides tab or type a height — every height-restricted ride, by park, at a glance. (The Rides tab filters ride-by-ride; this is the whole picture.)

Official minimums: Disney's height-requirements FAQ. Cast members measure at the ride entrance — no exceptions, even an inch under.

🤝 Character meet-and-greets

Where popular characters usually appear. Lineups and times change often — check the My Disney Experience app on the day.

Today's times and spots: Disney's official attractions & entertainment index.

🎆 Fireworks & parade viewing guide

Showtimes change by season and party nights — confirm in the My Disney Experience app before planning around a show.

Magic Kingdom — Happily Ever After
Fireworks over the castle. Claim a hub or Main Street spot 45-60 minutes early. The Disney Starlight nighttime parade usually runs twice — Main Street fills first, Frontierland is the sleeper pick.
EPCOT — Luminous: The Symphony of Us
Fireworks over World Showcase Lagoon, visible from anywhere around the water. Stake out a railing spot 30-45 minutes early; the bridge between France and the UK is a favorite.
Hollywood Studios — Fantasmic!
Nighttime spectacular in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater. It fills up — arrive 45+ minutes early, and the second showing (on two-show nights) is usually emptier.
Animal Kingdom — no fireworks
Fireworks would terrify the animals, so nights here mean Tree of Life Awakenings projections after dark — then head out; this park closes earliest.

Current schedules: Disney's official attractions & entertainment index (filter by Shows & Fireworks or Parades).

💫 Fan Culture

The traditions that make Disney fandom a lifestyle.

D23 — the official fan club
Founded 2009 (D = Disney, 23 = 1923). Expo events, a quarterly magazine, and the Disney Legends ceremony. d23.com
Pin trading
Started in 1999 as a temporary EPCOT promotion — fans refused to let it die. Cast members will trade with you; look for the lanyards.
Disney bounding
Dressing in character-inspired outfits — everyday clothes in character colors (costumes aren't allowed for guests 14+).
runDisney
Race weekends through the parks — from 5Ks to the Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles). Costumes encouraged on the course.

☀️ Beat the Heat

Florida heat is the #1 park complaint. Plan around it like a local — no planner leads with this.

🌅 Rope-drop, then retreat
Hit headliners 8–11am when it's cooler and lines are short. Take a midday break 12–4pm (pool, nap, resort), then return for the cooler evening.
💧 Free ice water everywhere
Any quick-service spot gives free cups of ice water — just ask. Refill stations are marked on the park map in the app.
❄️ AC attractions as cool-downs
MK: Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, Mickey's PhilharMagic. EPCOT: Spaceship Earth, The American Adventure. Studios: MuppetVision 3D. Animal Kingdom: Festival of the Lion King.
🧊 Pack the cool-down kit
Cooling towel, handheld misting fan, sunscreen, hats, and electrolyte packets. Freeze water bottles overnight — they melt into cold water by afternoon.
🌳 Know the shade
Animal Kingdom and EPCOT's World Showcase have the most natural shade. MK's Tomorrowland and Studios' Sunset Blvd bake — plan them morning or evening.
⛈️ Afternoon storms are normal
Summer downpours usually pass in 30–60 min. Ponchos beat umbrellas in crowds. Outdoor rides close for lightning — have an indoor backup ready.

✈️ Travel Logistics

Flights, confirmations, and the boring-but-important stuff — all in one place.

✈️ Getting there

🏠 Going home

🏨 Stay & wheels

🚌 Getting around Disney World

Budget 45–60 minutes door to door — Disney transportation is free but not fast.

Monorail
Magic Kingdom loop: Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and the Ticket & Transportation Center. Separate line: TTC ↔ EPCOT.
Skyliner gondolas
Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera ↔ EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Great views — but it stops running in lightning.
Boats
Friendship boats between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios (BoardWalk area); launches around Magic Kingdom resorts; ferries across Seven Seas Lagoon.
Buses
Everywhere else. Buses start about 45 minutes before early entry — be at the stop 60–90 minutes before you want to be inside the park.
Walking paths
Contemporary → Magic Kingdom, Grand Floridian → Magic Kingdom, and the whole BoardWalk / EPCOT / Hollywood Studios loop are walkable.
Rope-drop rule
If early entry starts at 8:30, leave your room by 7:15. The first bus or Skyliner line is always the longest.

🚐 Airport to resort

Orlando International (MCO) is about 25–30 minutes from Disney resorts. Disney's free Magical Express bus ended in 2022 — plan and book your own ride:

Mears Connect shuttle
Shared bus service between MCO and the Disney resorts. Book in advance online; standard and express (fewer stops) options.
Rideshare (Uber / Lyft)
Usually the fastest door-to-door option. Follow the signs to the designated rideshare pickup area at MCO.
Taxi
Available at the taxi stands outside baggage claim — metered fares, no reservation needed.
Rental car
Worth it if you're staying off-property or park-hopping by car. Resort guests get free standard parking at the parks.
Private car services
Town cars and vans with car seats available — pricier, but the smoothest arrival with kids and lots of luggage.

Prices and providers change — verify current options before you book.

🛒 Grocery delivery

Skip the park prices on basics
Order water, breakfast food, snacks, and sunscreen and have it sent to your resort — breakfast in the room before rope drop saves real money and time.
Use your resort's street address
Put the resort's street address as the delivery address — find it under your resort in the Resort Guide below — with your name and arrival date in the order notes.
Mark it "leave at Bell Services"
Drivers leave grocery orders with Bell Services, which holds them (including cold items) until you pick them up — no need to be there for the delivery.
Room delivery vs. lobby pickup
Bell Services can bring the order to your room for a $6 fee per order, charged to your room. Picking it up yourself in the resort lobby is free.
Alcohol orders
If the vendor requires age or ID verification, you must meet the driver yourself — Disney won't accept those deliveries on your behalf.
Order groceries
Pick a service and have it delivered to your resort's address, marked for Bell Services.

🏰 Official Disney page
Quick-Service Dining Plan
Per night, per guest: 2 quick-service meals + 1 snack + refillable resort mug. 2026 prices run about $60.47 per night per adult (less for kids) — verify before deciding. Good for families who eat on the go.
Disney Dining Plan
Per night, per guest: 1 table-service meal + 1 quick-service meal + 1 snack + refillable mug. 2026 prices run about $98.59 per night per adult (less for kids) — verify before deciding. Good if you're doing character meals and sit-down dinners.
Does it save money?
Roughly: you need to order the priciest menu items and use every snack credit (worth ~$6–7 each) to break even. Character meals tilt the math in your favor. Light eaters usually do better paying out of pocket.
The fine print
Everyone on the reservation must be on the same plan for the whole stay. Credits are per night and expire at midnight on checkout day. Gratuity is not included (parties of 6+ usually get an automatic 18% gratuity).

🎟️ Dining Plan credit tracker

Set your plan, nights, and guests — then log each meal or snack to see credits remaining. Credits pool for the whole stay and expire at midnight on checkout day.

How it works
Pick a restaurant → choose your food → pay in the app → tap "I'm Here" when you're close → head to your pickup window number.
One order, whole party
One person can mobile-order for everyone — no splitting up to stand in different lines.

👧 Riders & Travelers

Add everyone in your party — kids get height filtering, and each traveler gets their own must-do star list. Height is optional for adults.

⚡ Rides & Lightning Lane

Top rides are pre-loaded with height requirements and opening years — star your must-dos and note your Lightning Lane windows.

Must-Do List

Tap ⭐ to mark must-dos — pick who's starring first. Add Lightning Lane return windows — include the day and you'll get overlap alerts.
